The event, titled “A Night of Champions,” was the 10th annual prom for Children’s Hospital Colorado. The hospital holds the event for patients who couldn’t attend their high school prom due to their health. Sanchez was a surprise guest, and this year’s prom was held for the first time at Sports Authority Field.

“I just think it’s important when you’ve been blessed like I have — like any guy on our team has — you’ve got to be a blessing to other people,” Sanchez said, via the Denver Post. “You’ve got to give back. I didn’t get here on my own. You owe a lot to a lot of other people — people who took time out of their day to come and give you encouragement, to come and help you, to take you to practice and do stuff. This is what that is.”
