Lesnar failed an out-of-competition test leading up to the event as well as an in-competition test July 9, the day he defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision. After Lesnar’s failed test, the bout was ruled a no-contest.
Lesnar has denied taking a banned substance. His fine amounts to 10 percent of his record $2.5 million base purse (excluding pay-per-view purchases).
Jones, meanwhile, was pulled from his UFC 200 main event bout against Daniel Cormier after he failed a drug test in June.
Neither fighter has said what they tested positive for.
Both faced potential two-year bans by the USADA and Nevada’s commission.
Lesnar has since returned to WWE, and, at 39, the one-year suspension likely is an effective end to his mixed martial arts career.
